Roger Marshall Petition to Be Hand-Delivered to Senate Offices

LATEST IN | A petition organized by Prairie Progress Civic Action calling on U.S. Senator Roger Marshall to hold a public, face-to-face town hall with Kansans is now set to be hand-delivered directly to his offices.

The petition has gathered thousands of signatures from across Kansas, spanning 100 of the state’s 105 counties, reflecting what organizers describe as a broad, statewide demand for real accountability and open public engagement. Prairie Progress Civic Action says Kansans are united in their frustration with a lack of direct access to their elected senator and are requesting a public forum where he answers questions in person.

Organizers point to growing concern that Senator Marshall has avoided public events with open constituent questioning, instead only participating in tightly managed or shortened events. Prairie Progress Civic Action notes the ability to do this in a constructive manner while still addressing difficult questions. The petition, they say, is a direct response to the pattern of closed-door events and a push for transparency.

The hand delivery is intended to ensure the message is impossible to ignore: Kansans want a public town hall, and they want it now. Kicking off May 27th in Wichita, and May 29th in Overland Park, organizers vow to keep pressure on until Marshall agrees to meet face-to-face with constituents in a public setting.
